SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION SUBMITTAL INSTRUCTIONS:

These instructions apply to both the CSM Baldassari Scholarship and the USAA Scholarship.

Separate Applications must be submitted for each Scholarship.

  1. Eligibility:
  2. a. CSM Vincent Baldassari Memorial Scholarship:

    1. Legal children of National Guard Members, active, inactive, or retired whose sponsor is a member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of New Jersey may submit applications for consideration. Previous recipients are not eligible for subsequent awards.

    2. Any drilling guardsperson who is a member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of New Jersey may also submit an application for the CSM Baldassari Scholarship. Previous recipients are not eligible for subsequent awards.

    b. USAA scholarship (MSG Lynn H Steinman Memorial Scholarship):

    Open to any drilling guardsperson (need not be a member of the EANGNJ). This scholarship is administered by the EANGNJ and funded by USAA. Previous recipients are not eligible for subsequent awards.

  3. Applications: Separate applications are required for each scholarship and are available from the Scholarship Committee Chairperson or Unit Representative of the EANGNJ.

  4. Application Deadline: All applications may be received by the committee chairperson no later than 15 May of each year or postmarked as sent no later than 15 May. It is recommended that the applications be sent to the chairperson via registered return receipt mail or other similar mean to assure delivery by the deadline.

  5. Application package: All required attachments to the application must be received by the chairperson before an application can be considered. Please check with educational institutions that transcript have been sent. Also, the chairperson must also receive letters in support of the applicant. All items not received by the committee before consideration of applicants will cause the applicant to be withdrawn from consideration.
